Why Leave a Will |
Every year thousands of whales and dolphins are hunted, killed in nets or snatched from their family and forced to perform for our entertainment.
We want to end the needless suffering and misery facing these incredible animals, but sadly it is not going to be something we can accomplish quickly or easily.
WDCS is almost entirely dependent upon voluntary donations to fund our vital campaign and conservation work, providing whales and dolphins worldwide with the protection they so desperately need and deserve.
By choosing to remember WDCS with a gift in your Will, you really will be helping to secure a safer future for these magnificent and intelligent mammals.
Legacies means so much to WDCS as they provide us with the confidence to make long term plans. A legacy gift will enable us not only to prepare and implement new conservation campaigns and rescue projects, but also to react quickly wherever and whenever whales and dolphins are threatened.

My Family Comes First

You can leave a legacy that celebrates your life, family values, passions and life work, and your family will acknowledge and value those gifts as a continuation of the gifts you made during your lifetime.
But you do not need to leave your family out just because you are giving something to WDCS in your Will. There are different kinds of gifts you can leave
Kinds of Gifts:
- a specific gift of money, property, or stocks and shares
- a percentage of your estate
- a residual gift of whatever is left after all your other gifts, taxes and debts have been paid

Even 1% can make a difference!

Although it doesn't sound much, even 1% of your estate can make a difference! That leaves 99% for everyone else! Please consider leaving 1% of your estate to our whales and dolphins.

Legal Wording |
The legal name of the Society is the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (Australasia) Inc.
Consulting a lawyer is recommended. However the following is a bequest clause suitable for leaving a gift to WDCS.
I give, free of any relevant duties, [amount $$ or one (percentage) of my estate] to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (Australasia) Inc absolutely for the general purposes of the said charity. I direct that a receipt of the charity shall be a sufficient discharge of my Trustee or Executor.
